Our team is committed to delivering compelling content that captures the true essence of Appalachia. Through engaging articles, stunning visuals, and in-depth features, we aim to provide an authentic and immersive experience for our readers. Though we are a new magazine, we are not new to the industry. Joshua Moore, Editor-in-Chief, has contributed to various magazines for over a decade.

Photography Guidelines

At Appalachian Roots Magazine, we will NOT publish any photos created with artificial intelligence (AI) or any images that reflect heavy editing, including removing and/or adding items to an image. All photographs must be held to journalistic standards. If an image is perceived to be questionable, we may ask for the raw file to verify before publishing. Appalachian Roots also has a strict no drone photography use. We will not publish any images taken with a drone.

Meet Our Team

Josh has over two decades of experience in photography, graphic design, and wordsmithing. His dream was to create his own magazine to focus on his passion and love for the Appalachian region he calls home.
